Ahhh another
arrogant Sri Lankan with a chip on his shoulder. Had I known you were from the
same island as Ranatunga I would not have bothered to start a dialogue with you
in the hope of a balanced discussion.
I have a
masters in computer science and Murali is a cheat.
I will filter
all future emails from such a rude bastard into the bin. Bye.

I have just
looked at the digitised photographs you put up on the web site. Thanks - I am a
great fan of Murali and this is very helpful. Of course your photographs do
illustrate just how difficult it is to get this exactly right and confirms my
view that Umpire Hair was correct in calling MM simply because of the confusion
and doubt about such a bowling action. I also think Ranatunga was very wrong to
escalate the issue as he did - but that is beside the point.
I have always
HOPED he didn't chuck as I so loved watching him (and Saqlain Mustaq) bowl, so
I was hoping for confirmation from your site, especially as the title is
"...the Muttiah Muralitharan controversy resolved in Hong Kong !".
I'm afraid this does not resolve it for me, notwithstanding your assertions
about frame 9. The issue for me is
simply illustrated by the transition from frame 8 to frame 9. In frame 8 the
arm is bent in both perspectives. In frame 9, only one. Therefore the arm
straightened in at least one direction. and this clearly breaches law 25 which
says "A ball is fairly delivered in respect of the arm if, once the
bowler^Òs arm has reached the level of the shoulder in the delivery swing, the
elbow joint is not straightened partially or completely from that point until
the ball has left the hand. This definition shall not debar a bowler from
flexing or rotating the wrist in the delivery swing." Sorry, but under
this law the bloke chucks. Sorry for us all that is.

Hey Kid!
The simplest
for you is to just read what Sisira Samarasekera wrote:
"Make an
Archer's bow using a stick about 2.5 ft long and suitable string. Ask a friend
to hold it by one end, allowing it to hang down freely. Stand at a distance
(equal to the distance an umpire would normally use at the bowling end) from
the bow. Ask your friend to slowly rotate the bow until you can see the bend
clearly. Now ask him to rotate the bow sharply by 90 degrees. You should see
the illusion of the bent stick suddenly straightening. This is exactly what
happens in Murali's case. He has a permanently bent arm at the elbow joint of
24 degrees, similar to the bow."
More simply
stated, hope you understand that 0 + 1 = 1 and not 0.
If it is still
not clear, take a computer graphics course at SCU!
